Third Week Of The French Show Trial Against The SRI, PCE(r) & GRAPO

Wednesday 30th Thursday 1st & Friday 2nd December will now be the new sessions of the continuing farce trial against nine SRI, PCE(r) & GRAPO militants in Paris.

During the previous six sessions we have witnessed almost everything :

“Naked prisoners in punishment cells for refusing to humiliating searches, prisoners beaten up to take them out of the court room where they are being condemned for their ideology, prisoners being dragged by their hair across the floor in the so “democratic” France, police and judicial arrogance...But nothing about JUSTICE.

“The Summary does not bring forward anything but false evidence which have been written and hand given to France by the Spanish Civil Guard. Also, supposed inexistent links amongst an armed organisation, a communist party and an anti-repressive and internationalist organisation. We have witnessed a lot of ill-treatment during the transfer of prisoners from the cell to the court room, even in front of those who attended the public gallery, absolute media silence...But nothing about JUSTICE.

“Deceitful questions without possibly answers, interrogations that forbid to talk about history or politics, questions and more questions that just embrace the repressive police and judicial aspect of the trial...But nothing about JUSTICE.”

But the political prisoners of the SRI, PCE(r) & GRAPO have condemned this judicial blunder since the first moment of their arrest three years ago and now more than ever, facing a supposed trial in which they haven’t even been able to prepare their defence. They held a hunger strike for 21 days denouncing this situation of total defenselessness. In the court room they challenged the prosecutor’s questions with one only possible answer : unmasking the show into a political trial defending their militancy and arguing the righteousness of their struggle of more than 30 years. They also intervened on the repression, criminalisation and illegalisation in the Spanish State, on tortures, the closing down leftwing communication media, on the dirty war and the paramilitary murders. “Yes, I have had to live with false documentation as two of my comrades in Paris were murdered by Spanish State paramilitaries for their militancy within the PCE(r)” said Hierro Chomón. They established perfectly the difference and the independence of the organisations being judged and criminalised. As for the Spanish Civil Guard “They all are GRAPO”. “They all are ETA in the 18/98 case”. And the “Justice” still would like to see itself in its untainted glory despite the absolute lack of evidence. The sentence of the trial was already written down before it even began. These last three sessions are nothing more than a make-over for a formalization of a judicial farce. We also fear another round of ill-treatment during transfers and even in the court room itself against these nine communists, antifascists and internationalists for they are taking control of trial bringing it to their own success as they are publicly condemning the repression of both the fascist Spanish and French State.

During last Friday’s session the prosecutor asked Hierro Chomón : “What do you live on in Paris ?” Hierro replied : “I live on the hatred that I have against imperialism, capitalism and fascism, that’s what I live on !”, and then a dismal silence in the public prosecutor’s team.

On Friday December 2nd 2005, an internationalist concentration will take place in support of the militants of SRI, PCE(r) & GRAPO judged, with presence of supporters from Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, France and of course from the Spanish state.

After this show trial in Paris, on December 15th 2005 at the National Audience in Madrid, another trial will begin against yet another 10 militants of the AFAPP [Association of Friends and Relatives of the Political Prisoners] SRI, PCE(r) and GRAPO.
